Even in a fire?!

The mood in the boat was tense, everyone muttering what seemed to be their last prayers while squirming around for something they can hang onto for dear life.

The angry wind swirling the boat in what feels like an endless dance.. water splashing into the boat.

The men, managing to scoop water out with whatever they can find..

This is hopeless Pete thought… How can we ever come out of this he wailed!

Pacing from deck to deck… in the chaos…

Then, pete saw him, he called out to His friends, they couldn’t believe their eyes!

There he was, fast asleep!!

How is this even possible! With all this pandemonium… He laid there sleeping?!

Their shouting reached a crescendo, waking him up as Pete and his friends chorused:

“Captain, don’t you care that we’re going to die?”
This boat may sink any minute now..

The captain, got up, calmly told them to trust his expert skill to sail them through the storm to safety.

Then, he confidently reached for the rudder of the boat, manoeuvering the vessel to stay above the storm..

They didn’t sink as they feared…and just as suddenly as the storm had started, it ended. There was calm again..the sky clear, the sun teasing with its warmth.

But that just made Pete and his friends wonder, what kind of captain is this?

The story above is my fictitious version of what happened in Mark 4:35-41

There’s a lesson to be learnt here…

The captain on the boat represents God, while, Pete and his friends represent us.

Many times in life, we find ourselves in situations that appear hopeless..we wonder if God even cares enough to do anything about it, will he just watch us suffer or be drowned by this problem? Are some of the questions that most times we ask..

We however, need to learn to relax and live with a moment by moment realization that God is always with us. In Mark 4:35-41, Jesus was asleep on the boat when the storm was raging and his disciples fretting.

He made it clear to them that they had little faith…for being so fearful.

Check this out, if they were living with the consciousness that Jesus Christ the Son of God, the same man who had done several miracles before their very eyes was right there in the boat with them..they wouldn’t even bat an eyelid in that storm.

They should have well, gotten themselves pillows to sleep beside Jesus knowing that as long as Jesus is there, all will be well.

The essence of this story is for us to realize that, as long as we are living on earth, we will always have stormy days, in our lives, there will be situations that will come our way, that will feel overwhelming.

Now, here is something that excites me the most!💃💃💃💃

Let me just share it with you straight from the scriptures;

When you pass through the waters, I will be with you; when through the rivers, they won’t sweep over you. When you walk through the fire, you won’t be scorched and flame won’t burn you.
Isaiah 43:2 CEB

God is saying, even if you are passing through fire, you won’t be burnt!

Is someone as happy and uplifted as I am just reading this scriptures?!

We are never alone! God takes us through our challenges! He makes us overcome them! We just need to count on him totally! Trust him wholeheartedly! Let him be in charge of that situation! Lay it at his feet!

See what Jesus Christ says in this scripture:

…… lo, I am with you always, even to the end of the age.” Amen.
Matthew 28:20 NKJV

Today, let faith rise in your heart. Be filled with hope. Knowing that you are not alone! God is with you, is for you and he will bring you out victorious! Be encouraged!

Thanks for reading all the way through.
