Happy international boys day (May 16th)

Today slowly went by and really silent (from where I’m standing)about the celebration of the boy child, and I find it quite sad!

Even I forgot! If I hadn’t come across my Facebook memory post about it last year, It would have simply gone past me this year.

The same can’t be said about the day of the girl child celebration..

Now, don’t get me wrong..I’m not about to talk down on the fanfare that goes on with the girl child celebration

I just think in our bid to allow for gender equality, and with the rise of feminism, the male gender is becoming largely side tracked IMO.

And it shouldn’t be so…both genders should be given as much attention. If the male child begins to feel left out in the society, it may lead to behaviours that would spiral out of control in these boys that would ultimately become men.

The effects would boomerang and in turn affect the very fabric of the society we are trying to build into something sane and safe for women at large.

I guess what I’m saying in essence is, no child should be relegated regardless of his/her sex. Every child matter. Every child is special.

Happy international boys day to my boys and to other boys around the world!

Boys are precious and they become the men of tomorrow

It’s my prayer that God will help us parents to teach our sons well, to become Men after his own heart!

I pray for my sons and other sons around the world on this very beautiful day set aside to celebrate them that these scriptures from the Holy Bible be their guide as the grow up and navigate through life’s journey.

My son, forget not my law; but let thine heart keep my commandments:

Let not mercy and truth forsake thee: bind them about thy neck; write them upon the table of thine heart:

So shalt thou find favour and good understanding in the sight of God and man.

Trust in the Lord with all thine heart; and lean not unto thine own understanding.
In all thy ways acknowledge him, and he shall direct thy paths.

Be not wise in thine own eyes: fear the Lord , and depart from evil. It shall be health to thy navel, and marrow to thy bones.

My son, despise not the chastening of the Lord ; neither be weary of his correction: My son, let not them depart from thine eyes: keep sound wisdom and discretion: So shall they be life unto thy soul, and grace to thy neck.

Then shalt thou walk in thy way safely, and thy foot shall not stumble. When thou liest down, thou shalt not be afraid: yea, thou shalt lie down, and thy sleep shall be sweet.

Be not afraid of sudden fear, neither of the desolation of the wicked, when it cometh.

For the Lord shall be thy confidence, and shall keep thy foot from being taken.
Proverbs 3:1‭, ‬3‭-‬8‭, ‬11‭, ‬21‭-‬26 KJV

Happy Sunday to you all dearly beloved of God!

Do not Be Afraid and why you shouldn’t! Part 1

Do not be Afraid!

In this podcast, I talk about what fear is and how to deal with it, especially in these times we are in where there are just so much bad news making the round.

Recently, there have been reports of more deaths from the new wave of covid19 in some part of the world. Another disease looming reported to be an aftermath of the covid19 from the survivors called black fungus, which is steadily on the rise.

Two countries firing missiles at each other in recent news reports and my own dear country’s insecurity issues escalating.

As well as so many other issues around the world which are bound to make us feel a type of way.

However, what do we have to do?!

We are to FEAR NOT!

How can we do that?!

Take a listen to the podcast for more discussion on the subject.

Help Doyinsola walk again!

Doyinsola, is the sister of a friend. She needs Hip replacement surgery. She first had surgery in 2015 which cost them about 4 million naira.
Unfortunately, the previous implant needs to be
removed as it is infected and the doctors are worried about the spread of the infection. The cost of just removing the implants is estimated at 3 million naira, bearing in mind there might be other miscellaneous
expenses.

After the removal of the implants, her
mobility will be totally grounded until new implants are put in place.
Due to her condition, she has not been able to get a job, she had to stop her masters programme in OAU due to the stress of climbing the staircase.
The family therefore, is making an appeal to come to their rescue so that Doyinsola can get her life back. Please
no amount is too small. God bless you. Attached is
the details of the case.
