International youth Day

The strength of any country or groups of people lies in its youths. That’s why the importance of empowering and investing in youths cannot be overemphasized..
.
.
.
Emphasis for this year’s celebration is on the inclusion of the youths in the combined effort to fight against poverty, restore the planet, protect life as well as integrate biodiversity in the transformation of food systems.
.
.
.
Meanwhile, this is a golden opportunity to remind the youths that, although we are to put in the requisite efforts to make this world a better place…

We mustn’t forget our creator in this primetime of Life.
.
.
.
This is the time to use our strength for God.
This is the time to serve God and do as much as we can to share the Love of God to as many people as possible.
.
.
.
A time will come, when you will be too old to carry out certain tasks. How you spent your youthful years will determine if you’d feel fulfilled or regretful.
.
.
.
The book of Ecclesiastes in the Holy Bible puts it this way;
Remember your Creator while you are young. Your old age is coming when you will have many troubles. When that time comes, you won’t have much to enjoy. Remember God before your life is snapped like a silver chain. Remember God before your life is broken like a golden bowl. It will be as useless as a broken bucket at the spring. It will be no good, like a broken wheel at a water well.
Ecclesiastes 12:1‭, ‬6 ICB
.
.
.
My fellow youths, let’s think on these..

Have you said these today?

HAVE YOU SAID THESE TODAY?
.
.
.
.
.
I started this year with a particular request on my mind, then as the year has gone by, I’ve added 2 more items to the list of my request.

And although, I have prayed and I know God has heard…but as we all know, that window between when God has answered our prayer and when we see the manifestation could be wide…

The waiting time can be very trying..however, we are expected to be in a thankful mode, during this time (which most times I am and even just for everything in General).

Needless to say, the spirit is willing but the flesh is weak is sometimes my case being the human that I am

Thankfully, God says his Grace is sufficient for me and his strength is made perfect in my weakness.

All these to say that I have had days when I’ve been blue on the subject matter…and other days I’ve been bright.

Lately though..I’ve been more blue than bright on the matter.

But you know what…God has a way of reminding us of what’s more important and what’s more astonishing is that he sometimes uses the most unlikely source to tell us.

So, there is this person that sends me bizarre videos on WhatsApp…I didn’t even save the person’s number. The person got my phone number as a result of a work related issue, after which the person has held on to my number.

Anyway, this person after seeing I have ignored previous messages stopped sending me messages on WhatsApp for months now…so imagine my surprise when I saw a video message from the number! I almost deleted it chugging the idea of the video to one of those random messages…but I felt a nudge to at least check the video out.

Lo and behold…it was this beautiful song below and I believe God used this person to remind to be thankful and not be focused on those things I’m thinking I want or need!

It has touched me deeply today..and I thought to share the video too.

So, Have you thanked God for the little things God has given you or are you laser focused on what you are expecting to get from God that you are yet to see?

Be reminded by this beautiful song in this video about what truly is more important!

Even in a fire?!

The mood in the boat was tense, everyone muttering what seemed to be their last prayers while squirming around for something they can hang onto for dear life.

The angry wind swirling the boat in what feels like an endless dance.. water splashing into the boat.

The men, managing to scoop water out with whatever they can find..

This is hopeless Pete thought… How can we ever come out of this he wailed!

Pacing from deck to deck… in the chaos…

Then, pete saw him, he called out to His friends, they couldn’t believe their eyes!

There he was, fast asleep!!

How is this even possible! With all this pandemonium… He laid there sleeping?!

Their shouting reached a crescendo, waking him up as Pete and his friends chorused:

“Captain, don’t you care that we’re going to die?”
This boat may sink any minute now..

The captain, got up, calmly told them to trust his expert skill to sail them through the storm to safety.

Then, he confidently reached for the rudder of the boat, manoeuvering the vessel to stay above the storm..

They didn’t sink as they feared…and just as suddenly as the storm had started, it ended. There was calm again..the sky clear, the sun teasing with its warmth.

But that just made Pete and his friends wonder, what kind of captain is this?

The story above is my fictitious version of what happened in Mark 4:35-41

There’s a lesson to be learnt here…

The captain on the boat represents God, while, Pete and his friends represent us.

Many times in life, we find ourselves in situations that appear hopeless..we wonder if God even cares enough to do anything about it, will he just watch us suffer or be drowned by this problem? Are some of the questions that most times we ask..

We however, need to learn to relax and live with a moment by moment realization that God is always with us. In Mark 4:35-41, Jesus was asleep on the boat when the storm was raging and his disciples fretting.

He made it clear to them that they had little faith…for being so fearful.

Check this out, if they were living with the consciousness that Jesus Christ the Son of God, the same man who had done several miracles before their very eyes was right there in the boat with them..they wouldn’t even bat an eyelid in that storm.

They should have well, gotten themselves pillows to sleep beside Jesus knowing that as long as Jesus is there, all will be well.

The essence of this story is for us to realize that, as long as we are living on earth, we will always have stormy days, in our lives, there will be situations that will come our way, that will feel overwhelming.

Now, here is something that excites me the most!💃💃💃💃

Let me just share it with you straight from the scriptures;

When you pass through the waters, I will be with you; when through the rivers, they won’t sweep over you. When you walk through the fire, you won’t be scorched and flame won’t burn you.
Isaiah 43:2 CEB
https://bible.com/bible/37/isa.43.2.CEB

God is saying, even if you are passing through fire, you won’t be burnt!

Is someone as happy and uplifted as I am just reading this scriptures?!

We are never alone! God takes us through our challenges! He makes us overcome them! We just need to count on him totally! Trust him wholeheartedly! Let him be in charge of that situation! Lay it at his feet!

See what Jesus Christ says in this scripture:

…… lo, I am with you always, even to the end of the age.” Amen.
Matthew 28:20 NKJV
https://bible.com/bible/114/mat.28.20.NKJV

Today, let faith rise in your heart. Be filled with hope. Knowing that you are not alone! God is with you, is for you and he will bring you out victorious! Be encouraged!

Thanks for reading all the way through.

Did you find this scriptures comforting? Let me know in the comment section.😍😍😍

From Dawn to Noon

When I first read these words; …

“But the path of the just is as the shining light, that shineth more and more unto the perfect day.”

I didn’t quite understand it then. I just took it literally. And saw it as you know, a prayer point, or as a scripture that I can quote to give me some sense of assurance or hope whenever I’m faced with certain issues.

Then, I met an old friend whose slogan is ” it can only get better” which he coined from the same scripture. It incited deeper thoughts about that bible verse in me.

That his coinage of the verse quickly became a favourite of mine, I almost adopted it. But i didn’t want to be a copy cat, so I let that urge to adopt it slide…

However, a turning point in the way I now see this verse came when I read it in another version..

It was an ‘aha’ moment for me!

My eyes lit up! And even as I’m typing now, I can feel my heart beating fast with excitement!

It became really clear to me what that scripture is saying..it was like i saw into the letters..like some kind of dissection happened on the surgical table of words and I could truly see what it means..

Here is the verse of the scripture explained in another version of the Holy bible;

But the path of righteous people is like the light of dawn that becomes brighter and brighter until it reaches midday.
Proverbs 4:18 GW
https://bible.com/bible/70/pro.4.18.GW

Now, check this out!

The sun rising from Dawn to noon in the pictures below, Gives a clear view of what the scripture above is saying.

You maybe wondering…Am I even righteous? What does that even mean? Its appears too much of a standard to meet.

If these are your thoughts, let me break it to you..the standard of God In being righteous are in fact quite high to meet!

But the Good news is this..Are you READY for this….Drum roll pleeeaassee……..

God knows we can’t measure up to his righteous standard!

By the way, being righteous means having a Right standing with God..

So, he decided in his kindness and immense love for us to gift us with His righteousness as seen in this scripture;

We are made right with God by placing our faith in Jesus Christ. And this is true for everyone who believes, no matter who we are. For everyone has sinned; we all fall short of God’s glorious standard. Yet God, in his grace, freely makes us right in his sight. He did this through Christ Jesus when he freed us from the penalty for our sins.
Romans 3:22‭-‬24 NLT

The more we walk with God, the more we become like him..that how our light keeps getting brighter and brighter!

Our lives as children of God will keep growing and radiating his light and Glory in every aspect as we walk closer with God!

Are you as excited as I am?!

I certainly hope you are..!

This next scripture is in contrast to the previous one. It says;

The way of wicked people is like deep darkness. They do not know what makes them stumble.
Proverbs 4:19 GW
https://bible.com/bible/70/pro.4.19.GW

Those who are wicked, who despise God and have no love or regard for their fellow humans have a confused life style. They walk In the path of error, misery and sadness!

I’d like to think no one really wants to find themselves in the Dark all the time, we mostly want to be in the light. To have some clarity in the way we navigate through the journey of our lives .

We sure hope to have some sense of direction especially when we have to make important decisions in our lives.

Having a genuine relationship with God affords us the privilege of having God at our side, guiding us through life, taking us by the hand and leading us through the darkest and dreariest times of our lives.

Much like the gradual process it takes the sun to come from rising at dawn to a full daylight at noon

God takes us through the process of becoming full daylight… We just need to trust him as he leads us.

With God at our side;

1) it can only get better in the way we live our lives for him,

2) it can only get better in the way our relationships go with our spouses, kids, friends and others around us

3) Of course its not going to be rosy all the time, but we are rest assured that everything we will go through will be for our good as seen in the scripture below

We know that God works to help those people who love him. He uses everything that happens to them to bring something good. He does this for those people that he has chosen to serve him.
Romans 8:28 EASY
https://bible.com/bible/2079/rom.8.28.EASY

In a nutshell, once you believe in Jesus Christ..being righteous is no longer something you should be worrying about, because God has given you the gift of righteousness! He has imputed it on you! Hallelujah! Wow! Such an exciting news right?!

Since, you are now righteous, your path, your lifestyle is the like the morning sun that keeps glowing and growing brighter and fuller until noon!

Your life is more meaningful in Christ Jesus! The sun doesn’t struggle to shine, with the process of time it gets to its full potential! And so will you! You too will reach your full potential in God within the process of time God has laid out for your life! Trust him through this process!
